General functionality

The functionality of the IT industry looks like this: the unit Network of communication towers creates and sells megabytes of traffic, the Mobile operator buys traffic (almost like a regular product, minus the fact that traffic cannot be stored and accumulated) and turns it into minutes of conversation for its subscribers.

The efficiency of traffic sales is ensured by the qualification of IT.

The towers are a rented unit, without personnel, without regional positioning, with one standard size, accommodating up to 1000 units of equipment.

Additional facts about IT work

1. The quality of communication equipment affects the network capacity (+10% for each quality point) and the wear and tear period of the equipment (+1.5% for each quality point). The greater the network capacity, the more traffic one unit of equipment generates. Bandwidth is a kind of analogue of the "quality" of the traffic sold.

2. Mobile operators will not have a location area and a "uniqueness of service" parameter. However, an additional factor will affect the quality of service: in addition to the quality of equipment and the qualifications of personnel, the quality of communication will play a role, determined by the average weighted "quality" (bandwidth) of the purchased traffic.

3. Tower taxes are calculated minus equipment depreciation, taxes of mobile operators are calculated as for all service units.

IT update from May 21, 2018:

Starting with the recalculation from May 21 to May 22, virtual mobile communications are switching to 2.5G! This will affect two things: the revenue of cellular companies (an increase of 25% is expected) and the number of minutes of conversation in one megabyte of traffic generated by communication towers. Since the launch of IT, the communication "capacity" (approximately) corresponded to the GSM standard (9.6 kbps). Now it will (approximately) correspond to the 2.5G standard with a data transfer rate of about 136 kbps.

IT update from June 2025:

In June 2025, a phased reform of the IT industry was carried out, which affected both the sale of services to the population and the generation of traffic on towers. Firstly, mobile communications switched to a new format - 3G. Provision of services requires significantly more traffic, in conditions of network operation on 2.5G the data transfer rate is approximately equal to 136 kbps, while on the new standard the speed is about 3.5 Mbps.

Secondly, the bonus to the capacity of towers depending on the quality of equipment has been reduced to 10%. The planned changes were made within 5 weeks: – June 5: speed 1 Mbps, bonus on towers – 14% – June 12: speed 1.5 Mbps, bonus on towers – 13% – June 19: speed 2 Mbps, bonus on towers – 12% – June 26: speed 2.5 Mbps, bonus on towers – 11% – July 3: speed 3.5 Mbps, bonus on towers – 10%
